BREAKING: David Cameron resigns as Prime Minister after UK votes to leave EU

David Cameron has resigned as Prime Minister of United Kingdom after the nation voted to leave the European Union.

Speaking on Friday morning, outside 10 Downing Street, Cameron announced that he would be stepping down as leader of the
United Kingdom.

Following the UK’s exit of the EU,
Cameron who heavily campaigned
against the eventual outcome, says
he would step down later this year.

Cameron said he had fought to
remain within the E.U. with his “head, heart and soul,” while noting that “the British people have made a very clear decision to take a different path, and as such I think the country requires fresh leadership to take it in this direction.

” He added that the UK should “aim to have a new Prime Minister in place by the Conservative Party conference” which will hold in October.
